Ryan Dear Claims First Major Victory at Victorian State Championships
We're absolutely buzzing here at Disc Golf Warehouse! DGW Street Team young gun Ryan Dear has just secured his first Australian major win at the Vic Open (Victorian State Championships) in Bendigo, and we couldn't be prouder.
Consistency Pays Off
Ryan set the tone early with a blistering first round, shooting a -9 that earned him a 1016 rating. He then maintained solid composure throughout the tournament, finishing with a total of -21 for the event. The competition was tight, with Patrick Robinson right on his heels at -19 and Ryan Hart taking third place at -18 after throwing the weekend's hottest round of -11 (1026-rated).
A Breakthrough Performance
For those who've been following the Australian disc golf scene, Ryan has been knocking on the door of a major win for some time now. His dedication to improving his game, from field work sessions to putting practice has been evident to everyone who's seen him play.
Ryan thanked the entire DGW team in our group chat for the support throughout his journey. It's this kind of camaraderie that makes the disc golf community so special.
