Dave Perry and Ryan Johnson Go Wire to Wire at the Queensland Championships

Dave Perry and Ryan Johnson both went wire to wire at the Queensland Championships over the weekend, taking out the MPO and MP40 titles at Pine Rivers Park in Strathpine.
Dave has gone back-to-back at the Queensland Championships, following his 2025 win with another outstanding performance. He opened with a red hot 1052 rated nine under par and closed out the tournament at 20 under for an event average of 1031.
It wasn't entirely stress free though. Dave had the lead out to seven strokes early in the final round, but Austin D'Alessandro and Blake Houston clawed their way back into contention coming down the stretch. Dave answered with a turkey, three birdies in a row on fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen, to close it out and come home clear, finishing five strokes up on Austin (15 under) and six up on Blake (14 under).
To top things off, as of the July 14 PDGA ratings update, Dave's rating is sitting at 1022, a personal best, the highest rating of any disc golfer in the Southern Hemisphere, and a new record for an Australian player.

Ryan Johnson matched Dave's effort in the MP40 division, also leading wire to wire and finishing four strokes clear of Paul Phillips in second. Great effort from Ryan, doing the team proud.
Special mention to Mikey Hare too, who put together a great result of his own with a 5th place finish in MPO. Great to see his progression, and we can't wait to see what he does in the future.
Dave's PDGA World Championship fundraiser polo landed just in time for him to wear it at the event. A bunch of the team wore theirs too on the final day, and by all accounts he was feeling the love out there. We've still got a few left if you want to grab one and help send Peaches to Detroit.
